Charge laid after golf club wielding vandal damages property

A London man is charged after police allege he teed off on some signs and buildings in the downtown core.

According to London police, they were called by citizens who saw a man causing damage to property with a golf club Tuesday afternoon. Foot patrol officers were flagged down by a citizen outside a restaurant at 225 Dundas St.

"Police were advised that the man had damaged a patio at the restaurant prior to fleeing on foot," police said. "He was located and arrested by officers a short distance away on King Street."

A 43-year-old man is charged with mischief under $5,000.

He is to appear in court in March.
