Classic cars damaged in crash with stolen truck

Provincial police are investigating after a crash involving a stolen pickup truck left several vintage vehicles damaged in Ingersoll.

The pickup truck was on Bell Street just after 1 a.m. Thursday when it hit a hydro pole and several parked vehicles before crashing through the garage bay door of a business. The classic cars that were damaged were stored inside the business, Oxford OPP said.

The driver and lone occupant of the pickup had to be cut from the wreckage. That individual was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police later determined the truck had been stolen from outside of Oxford County.

A damage estimate has not been provided.

Charges have yet to be laid.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
