OPP seeks suspicious person spotted near school

The OPP in Norfolk County is looking for a person who was seen taking pictures near a school.

The person was spotted on Thursday near Lakewood Elementary School in Port Dover. A student first noticed the man standing near the school while children were playing outside. It was later determined that the man was seen riding a bicycle and taking pictures of children while they played.

OPP Constable Ed Sanchuk said the student first notified school staff, then their parents upon returning home.

A description of the person was not readily available, but the OPP is asking anyone who may have seen the person near the school last week to give them a call.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
