COVID-19 cases confirmed at more area schools

The Thames Valley District School Board says COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at more of its schools.

The board announced Thursday morning that cases have been confirmed at Huron Park Secondary School in Woodstock, West Nissouri Public School in Thorndale, Tavistock Public School in Tavistock, and Davenport Public School in Aylmer.

The schools are open.

The Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health are investigating the cases in order to identify close contacts.

"If you are not contacted by the public health unit, your child is not considered to be at risk. The health unit will only contact those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact, and will advise them to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days," the board said in a statement. "Thames Valley is following all health and safety protocols recommended by both the local public health unit and the Ministry of Education, and schools remains safe places to attend."

The number of active cases in TVDSB schools is now 37. A breakdown of confirmed cases can be found by clicking, here.
