One airlifted to hospital after industrial accident in Oxford

An industrial accident in a farmer's field southwest of Woodstock has left a 34-year-old man fighting for life.

Emergency crews were called to the field where drainage tile was being installed on Curries Road at Oxford Road 14 in Norwich Township just after 11 a.m. Wednesday. A 34-year-old was found severely hurt. That individual was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, Oxford OPP said.

It is unclear how the person was injured, but several pieces of machinery including two backhoes and a tractor where cordoned off with yellow police tape.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident.
