Construction site fire deemed suspicious

An investigation is underway into a suspicious fire at an east London construction site.

Firefighters were called to the multi-storey building at 440 Clarke Road after flames were spotted on the roof around 8:15 p.m. on Monday. Fire crews needed an aerial ladder to help extinguish the blaze.

No one was hurt and damage is estimated at $10,000, London police said.

The fire has since been deemed suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.
