London's first baby of 2021 is a girl

The first baby born at the London Health Sciences Centre in 2021 is a girl.

A release from the hospital said the baby, whose name is yet to be determined, was welcomed by mom Alanna Gilmore and dad Joe Gabriel at 12:30 a.m. Friday.

She weighed in at a healthy 9 pounds and 6 ounces.

The family received a gift basket donated by the pharmacist-owners of London and area Shoppers Drug Mart stores, a teddy bear from the Children's Health Foundation, and a handcrafted baby blanket from the London Health Sciences Foundation to welcome her arrival.
