St. Thomas police investigate convenience store robbery

Residents in a South Edgeware neighbourhood were told to stay inside while police investigated a convenience store robbery on Friday night.

Officers were seen searching the area of Confederation Drive around 9 p.m. after they received a call about a robbery at Fenlon’s Family Market.

St. Thomas police reported that a male suspect entered the store and pointed a hand gun at the clerk while he committed a robbery.

The suspect fled on foot before police arrived and was last seen heading north on Confederation.

No one was injured during the incident.

With the assistance of the London police K-9 unit, police canvassed the neighbourhood but were unable to locate the suspect.

He is described as approximately 6’3” with a slim build. At the time of the robbery the suspect was wearing a blue hoodie and dark pants, with tan gloves and black shoes with white trim.
