Dogs rescued from Woodstock train tracks

Two dogs in Woodstock are lucky to be alive after playing chicken with a train.

The pair, who did not have tags on their collars, were on the tracks near Hunter and Duke streets Monday with a train bearing down on them. Fortunately, the locomotive was able to get stopped in time and there were no injuries, Woodstock police said.

After a chase, officers were able to get the dogs safely into the back of a police cruiser.

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the animals to contact Hillside Kennels.
