Police seize sawed-off rifle, brass knuckles during arrest

A 25-year-old London man is facing weapons and drug related charges after police seized a sawed-off rifle, brass knuckles, and a small amount of drugs during an arrest downtown.

Officers on foot patrol in London's core spotted a man wanted on an outstanding warrant in the area of King and Talbot street on Thursday.

The man was arrested without incident. However, during the search that followed officers found a .22 calibre sawed-off rifle, a round of ammunition, brass knuckles, and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl. The drugs seized are value at just over $350.

Cody Kyle Kelly, 25, of London is charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and two counts of possession of drugs. He was scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charged on Friday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
