Freezing drizzle possible Tuesday

The morning commute Tuesday could be a slippery one for drivers in the London region.

Environment Canada has issued a freezing drizzle advisory for London, eastern Middlesex County, Parkhill, and Oxford County. Freezing drizzle began to fall early Tuesday morning and has already made roads to the north of the city slick, with black ice reported on Hwy. 4 near Birr.

The freezing drizzle, which could be mixed with light snow at times, is expected to continue into the evening hours.

Freezing drizzle can produce a thin, hard-to-detect layer of ice on surfaces, the national weather agency said in a statement. That will make highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots slippery. Drivers are advised to adjust their speed accordingly.
