Londoner wanted for fraud nabbed during traffic stop

A London man wanted for fraud in Grey and Bruce counties now faces an additional charge after he allegedly resisted arrest when found by police.

Middlesex OPP stopped a vehicle in the area of Clarke Side Road and Trafalgar Street around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday. Police determined the driver was wanted by Grey-Bruce OPP on an outstanding warrant. The man began to struggle when he was taken into custody, according to the OPP.

Officers were able to subdue the man and he was taken to the London OPP detachment without further incident.

A 31-year-old London man is charged with resisting arrest and fraud under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on March 25.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
