UPDATE: missing woman found

UPDATE: London police announced on Wednesday, January 20 that Payton Kechego had been found and is safe.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing 19-year-old woman.

Payton Kechego is described as female, Indigenous, approximately 5'3", 125 lbs with long brown hair and brown eyes. She has a large upper chest tattoo that reads "Lannie's girl".

Family members contacted police on Friday with concerns for her welfare. Kechego was last seen approximately three weeks ago and her loved ones believe she may be in the area of King Edward Avenue.

Anyone with information concerning her whereabouts is asked to call the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
