One injured during Woodstock bank robbery

Five people from Peel Region are facing charges after a bold afternoon bank robbery in Woodstock.

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, four males entered the Scotiabank on Springbank Avenue and demanded money. One of the men was allegedly armed with a weapon.

The suspects escaped into a waiting vehicle described as a white, four-door Pontiac. With the assistance of the Peel Regional Police Service, five individuals have been identified and arrested.

According to officers, one person inside of the branch was injured during the incident and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Afterwards, during the robbery investigation, Woodstock police identified a 27-year-old Mississauga man who was at the bank attempting to commit fraud. The accused is being held for a bail hearing set for Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
