Police conduct weapons investigation in south London

An investigation is underway by London police after a weapons incident in the city's south end on Sunday morning.

Around 7 a.m., police were called to a residence on Hines Crescent about a man in distress and possibly in possession of a weapon.

Officers were able to quickly contain the scene and ensure there was no risk to the public. Due to the nature of the incident, crisis negotiators were requested to attend the scene.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., the man surrendered himself to police without incident. The situation was resolved and remains under investigation to determine what charges will be laid.
