Traffic stop leads to seizure of fentanyl, cocaine

A London man faces a list of charges after a traffic stop turned up drugs and a firearm.

The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police said an officer spotted a suspicious vehicle in the westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 near Highbury Avenue at 1:39 a.m. Saturday. According to police, the vehicle was pulled over on Highbury Avenue just south of the highway.

"A large quantity of illicit drugs was located in the vehicle, suspected to be Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, cocaine and crack with an estimated street value just under $165,000," police said in a news release issued Tuesday. "Police also seized a firearm located in the vehicle, which was identified as a BB gun."

A 30-year-old London man was several drug charges, a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon, and charges under the Highway Traffic Act including driving without a licence.
