Snowy weather forces school bus cancellations

An overnight blast of snow has led to a number of school bus cancellations in the London region Monday.

School buses in Middlesex, Oxford, and Elgin counties and the Red Zone have been cancelled for the day, according to MyBigYellowBus.ca. Environment Canada has the area under a winter weather travel advisory with heavy, wet snow falling, making roads difficult to navigate. Snowfall amounts between 5 and 10 cm are possible before the snow tapers off later Monday morning.

All schools within the Thames Valley and London District Catholic school boards will be open.

School vehicles in the City of London will operate as normal on Monday.
