Tip leads police to grocery store break-in

London police credit a keen eyed citizen for helping to stop a break-in at a local grocery store over the weekend.

The individual saw a man breaking into the store at 574 Adelaide Street North just south of Central Avenue around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday and called police. Officers arrived at the store to find a man inside. He was arrested without incident.

A 31-year-old London man is charged with break and enter. He will appear in London court on May 20.

"We want to take this opportunity to thank the members of the public for reporting crimes to the London Police Service," police said in a statement on Tuesday. "Often things go unreported, and we continue to remind Londoners, when we don’t know – we can’t go."
