East London house fire deemed suspicious

London police believe a house fire in east London on Thursday morning was intentionally set.

A neighbour spotted flames coming from the outside of the house on Bancroft Road, south of Trafalgar Street just after 7:30 a.m. and called 911.

Firefighters arrived on scene and doused the fire before it was able to spread throughout the structure.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at $10,000.

Police have determined the fire was suspicious in nature and continue to investigate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
