Asked to leave apartment building, man allegedly pulls knife instead

A London man is charged after police allege he pulled a knife after being asked to leave an apartment building.

According to London police, officers were called to an apartment building on Huron Street near McNay Street around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The manager of the building had seen a man trying to open the doors. The manager didn't recognize the man, so he was asked to leave the premises.

The man refused to leave, so a member of the manager's family began escorting him out. But police allege the man pulled out a knife and tried to hit the manager's family member.

Police arrested a suspect and no injuries were reported.

A 33-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon.

He is to appear in court on May 20.
