Broken toilet, ratchet used to damage vehicles

Charges have been laid against a London man after a broken toilet and a ratchet were used to damage two vehicles downtown.

London police were called to the area of William and Pall Mall streets around 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday where a man was seen shattering an abandoned toilet. He then proceeded to pick up pieces of the broken porcelain and hurl them at a passing vehicle, police said.

A tool was then used to hit a nearby parked SUV.

Police arrested a man in connection with the incident in the area of Piccadilly Street, just west of Adelaide Street. A search of the man turned up a ratchet.

A 30-year-old London man is charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000. He is slated to appear in London court in relation to the charged on June 7.
