PSW accused of assaulting senior

An assault of an elderly woman has led to charges against a Personal Support Worker.

London police say the assault happened in February

"On February 19, 2021, at approximately 3 a.m., a woman employed as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) was working at an address in the west end of the city, caring for an elderly woman," police said in a news release issued Thursday. "A witness observed an assault on the victim and the incident was reported to police on March 3, 2021."

After an investigation, police arrested a 22-year-old woman. She is charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
