OPP investigate truck stop robbery in Oxford County

Provincial police are looking for a suspect after a robbery involving a weapon in Blandford-Blenheim Township.

According to Oxford County OPP, officers responded to a robbery at a truck stop on Oxford Road 29 around 11 p.m. Friday.

Police investigation determined that an individual entered the store and proceeded to walk behind the front counter area undetected.

The employee noticed the suspicious activity and approached the unknown customer. The man then allegedly yielded a weapon and threatened the clerk before accessing the cash register.

The suspect removed a quantity of cash and then fled the scene.

The worker was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as a caucasian male, between 30 and 40 years old with short dark hair, a full dark coloured beard and tattoos on his arms. He was wearing dark shoes, dark pants, a dark shirt and a dark zip-up hoody. He was last seen fleeing in a dark SUV.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
