Subject of safety warning arrested again

A man who was the subject of a public safety warning from London police has been taken into custody again.

On April 1, London police issued a warning about Juan Felipe Carillo, 32, of London. The warning was issued after he was charged with criminal harassment twice in one week. He is accused of harassing a female employee at an LCBO store at Wonderland Road and Southdale Road and of following a woman on the campus of Western University.

On Tuesday, police announced that they had received several calls after the warning was issued. One of those calls led to additional charges against Carillo. According to police, on March 26 a man approached some teenage girls at Sherwood Forest Mall and told them he was a police officer. It's alleged he made inappropriate comments to the girls, who feared for their safety and told their parents about the incident.

After looking at surveillance video, police identified a suspect.

Carillo is now charged with impersonating a peace officer and criminal harassment by threatening conduct.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
