Teens charged after shooting in east end

Three teenagers, including one who was shot, are facing charges after a gun was fired in an east London apartment.

Emergency crews were called to an apartment on Allen Place near Kiwanis Park around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to police, a 17-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with injuries police described as "non-life threatening."

Officers seized a firearm and arrested two teenage girls.

A 17-year-old female, a 16-year-old female, and the 17-year-old male who was shot are each charged with possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, using/handling a firearm in a careless manner, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, and storing a firearm in a careless manner.

The 17-year-old male is also charged with possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order.

All three cannot be named because of their age.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
