More COVID-19 cases identified at London area schools

Five more Thames Valley schools confirmed six cases of COVID-19 on Monday.

In London, Arthur Stringer, Riverside, and Sir Isaac Brock reported single cases. In St. Thomas, one case was reported at Mitchell Hepburn and two cases at Forest Park.

The school board says families and staff were immediately notified of the cases.  There are currently 47 active cases within the Thames Valley.

Health officials with the Middlesex London Health Unit and Southwestern Public Health are working to identify close contacts of the affected individuals.

The handful of cases were announced from the board as schools began the first day of spring break.

Premier Doug Ford and Education Minister Stephen Lecce announced students across Ontario will return to remote-learning following the end of the break on April 19. A return date has not been determined.
