Loaded rifle, edibles seized from two London homes

Four Londoners are facing charges after a police raid on two separate homes turned up a loaded .22 calibre rifle, a variety of ammunition, and a quantity of drugs.

Officers with the London police crime gun task force and emergency response unit searched the homes on Dundee Place and Simcoe Street earlier this week. Inside the Simcoe Street residence, officers found the loaded rifle with a magazine that contained seven rounds of ammunition. They also seized a shotgun stock, rifle barrel, 12 gauge shotgun slugs, 410 gauge shotgun shells, a digital scale, and approximately two grams of cutting agent.

Cereal bar edibles, marijuana bud, shatter pens, an electronic cash counter, and roughly $25,000 cash were seized from the home on Dundee Place. The drugs are valued at just over $10,000.

Two men, aged 27 and 26, and a 23-year-old woman, all from London, are charged with possession for the purpose of selling under the Cannabis Act.

A 44-year-old London man is charged with two careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition and possessing a firearm without a licence.

The crime gun task force, made up of investigators, crime analysts, and other specialists, was formed last month to address a rise in gun-related incidents in the city since the start of the year.
