Police looking for variety store robbery suspect

London police are asking for the public's help as they search for a suspect in a robbery at a south end convenience store.

Police were called to the Hasty Market at 99 Belmont Drive early Thursday morning after the store was robbed.

According to police, a woman went into the store around 5:20 a.m., pulled out a knife and demanded cash from the clerk. The woman got some cash and ran from the scene, heading west.

Police searched the area but did not find the woman.

She is described as being Caucasian, about 5' 6" tall, and weighing about 180 pounds. She was wearing black shoes, black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, dark blue toque, and a red bandana that was covering her face.

Anyone who can identify the woman is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
