Springbank Drive reopens after police standoff

A standoff with a wanted man saw heavily armed London police officers outside of a home in the city's southwest-end for several hours on Tuesday.

The heavy police presence was first observed in the area of Springbank Drive between Berkshire Drive and Chelsea Avenue around 12:30 p.m.

Police confirmed that a male, wanted by an unspecified police service, was allegedly barricaded inside of a home in the area.

No one was hurt and there was no threat to public safety, police said.

Springbank Drive between Berkshire Drive and Chelsea Avenue and Kernohan Parkway off of Springbank were closed for several hours. All streets were reopened around midnight.
