London police recover stolen handgun

An ongoing investigation led London police to a handgun that had previously been reported stolen.

Officers with the crime gun task force seized the stolen Smith & Wesson handgun and 100 rounds of .22 calibre ammunition last Thursday.

Police have not commented on where the gun and ammunition were found or on the extent of the ongoing investigation.

As of Monday morning, no charges have been laid.

The crime gun task force was formed last month in response to an increase of gun-related incidents in the city, including shootings, since the start of the year.
