London firefighters rescue baby deer from trench

You've heard about firefighters rescuing cats stuck up trees, but what about fawns trapped in trenches?

London firefighters sprang into action Tuesday night after getting a call about a baby deer that had tumbled down into a steep window well at Western University.

In a 45 second video posted to the department's Twitter page, two firefighters can be seen climbing down a ladder into the vine-filled trench. They then cover the frightened fawn with a blanket as it lets out several cries.

The deer is gently passed up and out of the trench to a third firefighter who carried the small deer to a nearby field.

The fawn was not hurt in the ordeal and was successfully reunited with its mother.
