Middlesex OPP investigate downed plane in Thames Centre

The pilot of a small aircraft was unharmed after they were forced to make an emergency landing in a field northeast of London.

Middlesex County provincial police say they were notified by NAV Canada air traffic control that a small, single propeller, Cessna plane was experiencing mechanical issues in the London area just before 7 p.m. Friday.

A short time later, the pilot and lone occupant landed the plane in a green space in the area of Wellburn Road, south of Elginfield Road.

Emergency crews along with Stratford police arrived to the scene, but thankfully no one was injured and the plane sustained no damage.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
