Londoner stabbed on Port Stanley beach

Provincial police are looking for a suspect after a 34-year-old from London was stabbed on the beach in Port Stanley.

Emergency crews were called to the main beach just before 9 p.m. Sunday where they located an individual with stab wounds. The 34-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.

The investigation by Elgin OPP found there had been a dispute between two groups of beachgoers who were in close proximity to one another. The confrontation turned physical and one person was stabbed.

The suspect and two other people who were with them took off from the area following the incident.

Police are searching for the trio and ask anyone with information that could help identify them to call 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477 (TIPS).

No description of the suspect has been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
