Toronto man charged after drugs, loaded gun seized

London police say a man from Toronto faces a list of charges after officers seized a loaded gun and more than $62,000 worth of drugs.

According to police, officers stopped a Jeep Grand Cherokee on Queens Avenue on Tuesday in relation to an ongoing investigation. A search of the SUV turned up 170 grams of fentanyl, 21 grams of methamphetamine, eight grams of cocaine, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Drug packaging, a digital scale, $2,360 in cash, and the Jeep Cherokee were also seized.

A 25-year-old Toronto man is charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, and one count each of possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, possession of a restriction firearm with ammunition, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device, occupying a vehicle with a firearm.
