Man charged after police seize three handguns, $165K in drugs

A London man is facing more than a dozen charges after a police raid on two south end homes turned up three handguns and about $165,000 worth of crystal meth and cocaine.

St. Thomas police, along with officers from the London Police Service and OPP, searched two homes on Yvonne Crescent in London on Tuesday. Officers seized a stolen Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum handgun, a Beretta 9mm handgun with magazines, a Smith & Wesson 40 caliber handgun with magazines, numerous boxes of ammunition, 1,650 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 8.5 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and drug packaging materials.

More than $50,000 in cash was also discovered during the searches.

A 37-year-old London man is charged with 16 offences including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
