Charges laid in Port Stanley stabbing

More than a week after it happened, police have made an arrest in connection with a stabbing in Port Stanley.

Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, officers with the Elgin County OPP were called to the main beach area after reports of an altercation. The investigation found there had been a dispute between two groups of beachgoers who were in close proximity to one another. The confrontation turned physical and one person was stabbed.

A 34-year-old London man was taken to hospital for treatment.

On Tuesday, June 15, police announced that a suspect had been arrested and charged.

Mark Quattrociocchi, 18, of Brantford is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He is to appear in court July 20.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
