London woman wins $100K

A decision to play Encore in a Lotto 6/49 draw has paid off for a London woman.

Katelin Preston, a 25-year-old student, won $100,000 when she matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the May 5 Lotto 6/49 draw.

The occasional lottery player checked her ticket using the OLG app.

"When it said Big Winner, I just kept saying oh my gosh! It was hard to focus at work that day,” she said. "I’m going to pay off my tuition, share with family and use some to pursue my post-graduate studies in Wales. I’m getting ready to move overseas!”

The winning ticket was purchased at New York News Convenience on Oakville Avenue in London.
