Police identify man found dead in SoHo

London police have identified the man whose body was found one week ago in the SoHo neighbourhood.

The grim discovery was made in the grass just south of Colborne and Nelson streets just before 7 a.m. on June 9. Police have since identified the deceased as 40-year-old Benjamin Moishe Van Eck of London.

Investigators said at the time his death was considered to be suspicious.

An autopsy was done a day after Van Eck's body was found, however a cause of death has not yet been determined, police said on Thursday.

Anyone with information about Van Eck's activities in the days and hours before the discovery of his body are asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
