London police make an arrest after man breaks into family home

There were some scary moments for a London mom on Thursday morning, after a man armed with a hammer broke in to her home.

London police say the man entered a home on Singleton Avenue near Southdale Road around 8:40 a.m.

A woman, who didn't know the man, was inside the house with her children.

Police arrived at the house and the suspect ran off. Eventually, officers located the man at his own home.

The suspect refused to leave his home, and at 3 p.m., police executed a warrant and went inside.

A 30-year-old London man has been charged with break and enter with intent, possession of a weapon, possession of break in instruments, and resisting arrest.
