Teen's death ruled a homicide

The death of a 17-year-old who died in hospital after a disturbance on the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation has been ruled a homicide.

Police and emergency crews were called to a disturbance at a home on Switzer Drive on June 27, 2021. Two people were taken to hospital, where one was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as Wayne Donald Grosbeck, 17, of the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.

The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police said no other details are being released at this time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
