Charges have been laid after a man was threatened with a knife and had his bike tires slashed in separate incidents in downtown St. Thomas.
The man was sitting on a bench on Talbot Street near Moore Street late Monday night when another man approached him with a knife and began making threats.
The man, who was not hurt, left the area, going to a shelter on Wellington Street. However, shortly after his arrival there someone slashed the tires on his bike which had been parked in the rack outside the building.
Following a third disturbance early Tuesday, St. Thomas police arrested a suspect after a short chase.
A 35-year-old St. Thomas man is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, mischief under $5,000, and breach of release conditions.
