Port Burwell man charged in sexual assault of two girls

A 32-year-old man from Port Burwell is facing nearly ten charges in connection with the sexual assault of two girls.

The assaults are alleged to have taken place at a home on Sydenham Street East in Aylmer between September 2019 and August 2020. They were reported to Aylmer police earlier this month.

The two girls were said to be under the age of 16 at the time of the assaults.

Following an investigation, police arrested a 32-year-old man, whose name has not been released. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault of a person under the age of 16, three counts of sexual interference, two counts of invitation to sexual touching, and one count of indecent exposure.

The assaults were not random as the man and the girls were known to each other, police said.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
