Charges laid in crash that killed Otterville man

More than two months after an Otterville man was killed in a two-vehicle crash southeast of Woodstock, a 68-year-old Norwich woman has been charged.

Betty McCullough is charged with one count each of careless driving causing death and careless driving causing bodily harm in connection with the May 28 crash in Norwich Township, Oxford OPP said Friday.

It was just before 4 p.m. that day when a pickup truck and SUV collided at the intersection of Curries Road and Middletown Line.

The driver of the SUV and the driver and passenger of the pickup truck suffered serious injuries. The truck passenger, identified as 25-year-old Teunis Vanvelthuizen of Otterville, was initially taken to local hospital before being airlifted to a larger medical facility with life threatening injuries. He died two days later.

McCullough is scheduled to appear in Woodstock court in relation to the charges at a later date.
