SIU called to investigate after London man hurt during arrest

London police have contacted the province's police oversight agency after a man suffered an injury during an arrest.

Officers were called at around 10:49 p.m. Sunday, about an unknown male who was allegedly trying to enter someone's home in the area of Dufferin Avenue and Adelaide Street.

Police arrived and a male suspect wanted for several offences, as well as for an outstanding warrant, was arrested. During the interaction, the man was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

As a result, a 43-year-old London man was charged with trespassing at night and resisting arrest.

The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate and continues to investigate the incident.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
