Malahide man facing child pornography charges

Charges have been laid against a Malahide Township man after an OPP investigation into child pornography.

The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police say they searched a home in Malahide Township on August 17, 2021. Officers seized several electronic devices that are alleged to have contained images of the sexual abuse of children.

Jacob Friesen, 25, of Malahide Township is charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and one count of making child pornography available.

He was remanded in custody following a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
