Part of Highbury closed for railway repairs

Those who use part of Highbury Avenue during their daily commute may have to take a detour until Friday.

The City of London said the road will be closed at Florence Street beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday until end of day Thursday while CN Rail workers make necessary repairs to the railway crossing.

"During this time, a signed detour will be in effect for motorists. North and southbound vehicles travelling through the area will be detoured through Dundas Street, Clarke Road, and Trafalgar Street," read a release from the city.

Cyclists and pedestrians are also encouraged to avoid the area and use nearby streets to reach their destination.

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained, but road users will not be able to cross the tracks.

Drivers are advised to check if their commute is impacted and plan ahead by using the Waze app.
