Overnight assault leaves two men seriously hurt

London police are investigating an assault near the downtown that sent two men to hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency crews were called about the incident in the area of Wellington and Hill streets around 3 a.m. on Thursday. When they arrived they found two men with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Paramedics took both men to hospital for treatment.

A home at 142 Wellington Street was cordoned off with yellow tape and a police cruiser remained out front around 6 a.m.

Few details about the assault have been released including whether a weapon was used and whether police have identified any suspects.

"The investigation is in its early stages and an update will be provided as soon as one is available," said Constable Scott Mandich.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
