Two women face attempted murder charges following weekend stabbing

As a stabbing victim remains in hospital, police have charged two women with attempted murder.

Police say there were called to the area of Southdale Road East and Millbank Drive at 3:15 a.m. Sunday for a report of an injured person.

When officers arrived, they found the man suffering from serious injuries as a result of a stabbing.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was in life-threatening condition - which has since been described by police as critical condition.

Mary Caruana, 25, and Mercedes Summers, 19, who are both from London, each face an attempted murder charge in relation to the case.

They were both scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
