London hairstylist wins $100K

Feeling lucky, a 39-year-old hairstylist from London picked up a lotto ticket on a whim and won big.

Vibol "Vee" Soy won $100,000 with an Instant Big 10 scratch ticket.

"I had a feeling that good fortune would come my way, so I asked my husband to pick up an Instant ticket," Soy said while picking up her winnings from the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

She played the ticket immediately and was speechless. At first she thought she had won $10,000 before realizing the full extent of her windfall.

"This whole experience has been priceless," said Soy. "It comes at a perfect time for my family. As a hairstylist, my business has drastically been impacted by the pandemic."

The COVID-19 crisis led to hair salons being closed during provincial lockdowns three times over the past 18 months.

Soy went on to explain she currently doesn't have any big plans for the money.

"I'd like life to return to normal before I make any big decisions," said Soy.
