Man wanted after $300K in stolen property recovered

London police are on the lookout for a suspect after officers recovered more than $300,000 worth of stolen property.

According to police, a business on Charterhouse Crescent was broken into on September 25. That led to an investigation by police, which resulted in raids at a business on Falcon Street and at a home on Nissouri Road in Middlesex Centre two days later.

Police seized two Ford Transit vans with a total value of $112,000, about $100,000 worth of fire retardant uniforms, and $142,703 worth of disposable nitrile gloves.

Richard Kyle Newstead (shown above), 40, is wanted on charges of possession of property obtained by crime.

Anyone who knows where he is or has any information about the incident is asked to call London police at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Elgin Middlesex Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
